Global College of Natural Medicine: Holistic Health Practitioner

I have been deeply interested in holistic health for a few years. Up to this point in my life I have just studied and researched on my own. When I started having people come to me on a regular basis for health advise, I knew I needed to become certified and earn the proper credentials to advise anyone about their health.

I researched several Natural Medicine schools. I finally narrowed my search down to Global College of Natural Medicine. I am so glad that I chose this school! When I received my box of school supplies it felt like Christmas! My studies consist of herbalism, nutrition, alternative medicine, etc. So I have shelves full of great up to date books that cover the health of the body as a whole. The study modules that we follow are fantastic! And the Student Forum is a great resource and student connection! The Student Services department is extremely helpful and professional. I have never felt any regret about spending the money for the schooling.

When I decided to go to GCNM my finances didn't allow me to just up and pay for the whole course all in one lump sum. In fact, I didn't know how I was going to pay for it. Luckily I have a smart husband who helped me draw up a good plan. He suggested that I enroll in the local community college part time for a couple of general education classes (English 101 and Basic Computers) then I could use the financial aid that I accepted for the community college classes as well as the GCNM classes. This worked out perfectly. GCNM also allowed me to set up a payment plan that made it all possible.

As I have studied with Global College of Natural Medicine I have felt just like I am attending a regular university. They are very professional and the courses are very well put together. I know that I will finish this course feeling prepared for my future as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

I recommend Global College of Natural Medicine to anyone. Whether they are just looking to educate themselves in the holistic health lifestyle or if they are embarking on a lifestyle and career change, they will not be disappointed!

  1. Hi, there! I am so glad to have found this blog. I've had my heart set on GCNM school for a few months now after almost a year of researching distance learning programs. I'm waiting on tax money to enroll (hehe). Can't wait to hear more about your thoughts on this program, as it is the same one I have chosen :)

  3. Hi, I am also considering enrolling with GCNM and was very excited about it until I clicked on the link to the enlarged picture of the course materials and saw that they teach anatomy with a COLORING BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously?????? I was just wondering if, now that you are a ways into it, you think it really is worthwhile. And is the anatomy portion really just a COLORING BOOK??? Pleae tell me there is more material included on anatomy as I am no longer in kintergarden!!
    Thanks!!! -Sara

  4. Hi Sara,

I've spent the day pondering your question on whether GCNM is worthwhile. I have concluded that it is. It hasn't been Exactly as I thought it would be. But that doesn't mean that it has been negative. Yes, All of the knowledge that I have gained has been beneficial. I don't think that it is EVERYTHING that I would need in order to feel completely qualified to run my own practice. But it is definately a start, and for some people it might be all that they need. Then again, I'm not finished with the course, so it very well may end up being all I need. We shall see. When it comes to the anatomy section, the answer is Yes they do have more material in the course modules on anatomy. I actually have put that portion of the course off until this evening. My husband is currently enrolled in an anatomy course from our community college and his homework tonight was coloring in a coloring book. So to me this tells me that studying anatomy by coloring in a book is not as unusual as one might think. Good Luck in your decision!!

  5. Lena-

Just found your blog this evening. I too am considering a certificate and/or possibly a second degree from GCNM. You mentioned that you felt it was worthwhile, but not exactly as you thought it would be. Could you elaborate on that a bit for us? Further, could you report when you started and how far along you currently are? Perhaps how much time you are spending studying?

    Thanks so much.

  7. Hi, Thanks for reading my blog! I haven't finished the course yet. But that isn't because it is a difficult course. I have been sick, had a baby, and my husband is going to school full time and working full time. So I have not been able to put in full time focus. The course is laid out for a two year program. That is plenty of time if you focus steadily. You could get finished before that if you focus full time without distractions.

I HAVE to finish this month. Wish me luck!! And Good Luck to you!! GCNM is a good place to start your Holistic Health journey.

  8. Hi!
I am looking at the college now and was really hoping to get some info as to how you used the financial aid to get the degree...
I might get involved in my local college's nutrition program and could start taking a few courses this fall... seeing as how I make minimum wage and am lucky to get 30 hours a week, I need all the financial help I can get!!
I'd like to eventually get all three levels of degree and would like to know how you felt once you'd finished the first level.
Please email me at larabeth.pm@gmail.com!! I need all the advice I can get!
    Thanks!

  9. Hi LB, Thanks for reading my blog! I posted this today in response to your question. I hope you find it helpful! Good Luck on your journey!
"I have been asked on several occasions about how I used Financial Aid for the GCNM program. There's not really a drawn out answer to this question. What it boils down to is I signed up for Community College courses (along with my GCNM program) and when I accepted the Financial Aid offered for the Community College classes I accepted more then what I needed for that tuition and used the extra to pay for my GCNM education."

  10. Hello! Now, when you say Financial Aid, was it scholarships, grants, loans, or all of the above? I would love to get grants, etc for the GCNM program, which I am so interested in now.

  12. How does this program compare to some of the other online schools and is it something you can use to develop your own business. Is it certified by the right institutions?
    Thanks!

  13. Dear Lena,

In reading up on the Global College, I came across your blog. And in addition to knowing if you think we should reach out to them, we are also very much interested in what some of their students like you think of what we are doing, and per your blog what you want to do as a health and well-being practitioner?

That said, my wife and I are doing something wholly unique and revolutionary in the area of holistic well-being: With a patented clock I invented, we are seeking to help people at risk avoid circadian rhythm-related illnesses such as depression and obesity and worse. Our http://Truetyme.org site gives basic info. And our TrueTyme page on http://Launcht.org explains more about what we are doing and why and how?

Greatly looking forward to hearing back from you!

Warmest regards, Yale and Jackie Landsberg

  14. Hi Lena,

I have been researching online schools to become a Holistic Health Practioner and came across your blog. Have you finished the program? What do you think in retrospect? Would you recommend GCNM? Do you feel qualified or will you need to get further education? How are you using your certification?

Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to figure all this out. Thank you so very much for any insight you can share.

    Christi
